Day of Wrath

The day of “wrath” is coming when the wicked will pay the ultimate price for their disobedience to God   –   Romans 2:5 .  According to Paul, the proclamation of the gospel unveils two forces that are at work in the world - “ righteousness ” and “ wrath .” But they will produce two very different results - “ salvation ” and “ destruction .” Which result anyone reaps will depend on his or her response to the gospel, for  it is the “ power of God for salvation to everyone who believes .” - [ Photo by  Presentsquare  on Unsplash ].

Unsealing Daniel

Daniel was commanded to “seal the scroll,” but John was commanded NOT to seal the scroll - “for the season is at hand.”  At the close of his visions, the angel commanded Daniel “ to close the words and seal the book until the season of the end .” However, in  Revelation , the “ scroll ” is unsealed and opened to reveal its contents. Daniel was told to “ seal the scroll ,” but John was commanded  NOT  to do so. The verbal parallels are quite deliberate - [ Open Bible photo by  Ben White  on Unsplash ].

Tribulation, Kingdom, Endurance

Exiled on Patmos, John is a “fellow-participant” in the tribulation, kingdom, and endurance that is in Jesus   –   Revelation 1:9 .  At the start of his vision, John identified himself as the “ fellow-participant ” with the churches in  “ the tribulation and kingdom and endurance  in Jesus .” He had been banished to the isle of Patmos for his “ testimony ” for Jesus. Like the “seven churches” on the Asian mainland, he had endured “ tribulation ” for the sake of the “ kingdom ” of God - [ Photo by Zoltan Tasi on Unsplash ].

Ends of the Ages

Paul linked the start of the “last days,” the era of fulfillment, with the Death and Resurrection of Jesus .  According to the Apostle Paul, the “ last days ” commenced following the death and resurrection of Jesus. He arrived in the “ fullness of time ,” and in him, the time of fulfillment has arrived - all the promises of God now find their “ yea and amen ” in Christ Jesus.  God spoke truly but partially in the prophets of old; but now, he is speaking fully and plainly in His Son  - [ Photo by  Zoritsa Valova  on Unsplash ].
